前言

雅各布·格林（Grimm J.，1785-1863）、威廉·格林(Grimm W.，1786-1859)，文學(xué)史上稱為“格林兄弟”，兄弟兩人是德國(guó)語(yǔ)言學(xué)家、民俗學(xué)家、民間文學(xué)研究者，同時(shí)還是名揚(yáng)世界的童話大師。格林兄弟的經(jīng)歷類似，早年學(xué)習(xí)法律，后來(lái)共同研究德國(guó)文化史和語(yǔ)言學(xué)，是日耳曼語(yǔ)言學(xué)的奠基人。他們共同搜集、整理、研究德國(guó)民間故事、傳說(shuō)和童話，出版多部童話故事和傳說(shuō)等著作，而《格林童話》是其中的典型代表?！陡窳滞挕吩麨椤陡窳中值芩占慕o孩子與家庭的故事》，這些童話故事伴隨著一代又一代人的美麗童年、少年直至成年，其中《小紅帽》、《白雪公主》、《灰姑娘》、《青蛙王子》、《大拇指》、《睡美人》、《聰明的小裁縫》等已成為世界童話寶庫(kù)中的經(jīng)典?！陡窳滞挕穯?wèn)世100多年來(lái)，至今已被譯成世界上140多種文字，而其中的中文譯本更是不計(jì)其數(shù)。國(guó)內(nèi)引進(jìn)的《格林童話》讀本主要集中在兩個(gè)方面：一種是中文翻譯版，另一種中英文對(duì)照版。而其中的中英文對(duì)照讀本比較受青少年讀者的歡迎，這主要是得益于中國(guó)人熱衷于學(xué)習(xí)英文的大環(huán)境。而從英文學(xué)習(xí)的角度上來(lái)看，直接使用純英文的學(xué)習(xí)資料更有利于英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)。考慮到對(duì)英文內(nèi)容背景的了解有助于英文閱讀，使用中文導(dǎo)讀應(yīng)該是一種比較好的方式，也可以說(shuō)是該類型書(shū)的第三種版本形式，這也是我們編寫(xiě)本書(shū)的主要原因。采用中文導(dǎo)讀而非中英文對(duì)照的方式進(jìn)行編排，這樣有利于國(guó)內(nèi)讀者擺脫對(duì)英文閱讀依賴中文注釋的習(xí)慣。在中文導(dǎo)讀中，我們盡力使其貼近原作的精髓，也盡可能保留原作簡(jiǎn)潔、精練、明快的風(fēng)格，豐滿、艷麗的形象。我們希望能夠編出為當(dāng)代中國(guó)青少年讀者所喜愛(ài)的經(jīng)典讀本。讀者在閱讀英文故事之前，可以先閱讀中文導(dǎo)讀內(nèi)容，這樣有利于了解故事背景，從而加快閱讀速度。本書(shū)主要內(nèi)容由紀(jì)飛、劉乃亞編譯。參加本書(shū)故事素材搜集整理及編譯工作的還有鄭佳、王勛、趙雪、左新杲、黃福成、馮潔、徐鑫、馬啟龍、王業(yè)偉、王旭敏、陳楠、王多多、邵舒麗、周麗萍、王曉旭、李永振、孟憲行、熊紅華、胡國(guó)平、熊建國(guó)、徐平國(guó)、王小紅等。限于我們的文學(xué)素養(yǎng)和英語(yǔ)水平，書(shū)中一定會(huì)有一些不當(dāng)之處，我們衷心希望讀者朋友批評(píng)指正。

內(nèi)容概要

本書(shū)是名揚(yáng)世界的童話巨著，由德國(guó)的格林兄弟搜集整理而成。“青蛙王子”、“大拇指”、“兩兄弟”、“灰姑娘”、“睡美人”、“
小紅帽”和“白雪公主”等童話名篇伴隨了一代又一代人的美麗童年、少年直到成年。格林童話問(wèn)世近200年來(lái)，至今被譯成世界上100多種文字，而其中的英文譯本更是不計(jì)其數(shù)。本書(shū)《格林童話全集》匯集了格林兄弟全部
211篇童話故事，選用世界公認(rèn)的著名英文譯本之一，采用中文導(dǎo)讀英文版的形式出版。在每篇故事的開(kāi)始部分編譯了中文導(dǎo)讀，即每篇完整的童話內(nèi)容采用英文版本，而在每篇童話之前加入故事的中文概要，目的是使讀者通過(guò)中文導(dǎo)讀了解故事的概況，進(jìn)而提高閱讀英文故事的速度和水平。同時(shí)，為了讀者更好地理解故事內(nèi)容，書(shū)中加入了大量的插圖。

插圖：在很久以前，有一位國(guó)王，他無(wú)所不知，就連最秘密的消息好像也能從空氣中傳進(jìn)他的耳朵。不過(guò)，每天午飯后，當(dāng)飯桌收拾干凈，屋里只剩他一個(gè)人時(shí)，一個(gè)貼身侍從還會(huì)給他送來(lái)一只碗。那只碗被蓋得嚴(yán)嚴(yán)實(shí)實(shí)，就連侍從都不知道里面是什么。國(guó)王總是在沒(méi)人的時(shí)候，才去吃里面的東西。有一天，送碗的侍從把碗端走時(shí)，把碗端進(jìn)了自己的房間，鎖上房門，揭開(kāi)了碗蓋，只見(jiàn)里面是一條白蛇，他吃了一小塊蛇肉，突然間，他聽(tīng)懂了麻雀的談話，具有了能聽(tīng)懂動(dòng)物語(yǔ)言的能力。有一天，侍從被王后懷疑偷了她最漂亮的戒指，將被處死。這時(shí)，他聽(tīng)到一只鴨子說(shuō)它吞下了王后的戒指，胃里沉甸甸的。侍從讓廚師把那只鴨子宰了，而廚師在鴨胃里找到了王后的戒指。于是，侍從證明了自己的無(wú)辜。國(guó)王為彌補(bǔ)自己的不公正，允許侍從提出一個(gè)要求，而侍從只要求得到一匹馬和一筆旅行的費(fèi)用，就上路旅行了。一天，他看到池塘中有三條魚(yú)被蘆葦纏住了，就下了馬，將魚(yú)兒放回了水中。他又繼續(xù)騎馬向前走，突然聽(tīng)到蟻王在抱怨自己的馬在踐踏它的臣民，就掉轉(zhuǎn)馬頭，上了一條邊道。他順著這條路走進(jìn)了一片林子，看到一對(duì)烏鴉夫婦把自己的孩子趕走了，小烏鴉躺在地上，哭訴著自己還不會(huì)飛，只能被餓死。于是，年輕人殺死了自己的馬，把它留給小烏鴉做食物。年輕人徒步走了很遠(yuǎn)很遠(yuǎn)，最后，來(lái)到一座大城市。年輕人十分仰慕美貌的公主，向公主求婚。國(guó)王答應(yīng)了，但要他必須完成一件任務(wù)。他被帶到了海邊去撿一只被扔進(jìn)大海的金戒指。被他救過(guò)的三條魚(yú)朝他游來(lái)，中間的一條魚(yú)嘴里銜著一個(gè)貝殼，里面正是那只金戒指。
