葉永青認(rèn)為,藝術(shù)是與生命相似的痛苦和甘美混合在一起的東西,同時(shí)也是證明生活充滿問題的一種方式。藝術(shù)家既是歷史變遷、社會(huì)劇情、日常史詩的旁觀者也是偶而參與的演員。既是"社會(huì)人",亦是"藝術(shù)人"。它的旁白和含蓄的批判往往引導(dǎo)著觀眾的思路,它是不生效的藝術(shù)家、語言者和社會(huì)行為的批判家。

葉永青(1958- )出生于昆明,1982年畢業(yè)于四川美術(shù)學(xué)院繪畫系,現(xiàn)任四川美術(shù)學(xué)院教授。曾在北京、上海、新加坡、英國(guó)倫敦、德國(guó)慕尼黑、德國(guó)奧格斯堡、美國(guó)西雅圖等地舉辦個(gè)展。參與重要聯(lián)展:1989年中國(guó)現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)大展;1991年中國(guó)當(dāng)代藝術(shù)文獻(xiàn)資料展;1992年“92中國(guó)油畫藝術(shù)展”、廣州“首屆九十年代藝術(shù)雙年展”;1993年香港、澳大利亞“后89中國(guó)新藝術(shù)展”;1994年北京“中國(guó)藝評(píng)家年度提名展”;1996年德國(guó)“中國(guó)!”、北京“首屆學(xué)術(shù)邀請(qǐng)展”、“首屆上海美術(shù)雙年展”;2000年北京“20世紀(jì)中國(guó)油畫大展”;2002 年廣州“中國(guó)藝術(shù)三年展”;2003年北京“開放時(shí)代”展。作品被中國(guó)美術(shù)館等藝術(shù)機(jī)構(gòu)收藏。
